Ocean Heights Presbyterian Church invites you to celebrate the holidays in a more meaningful and sustainable way. Beginning November 17 through December 5, we will be collecting gently used Christmas ornaments and decor. If you have ornaments you don't use anymore, or styles you've rotated out, drop them off during office hours - clean, unbroken, and ready to find a new home. The joy of this project is in sharing the beauty that already exists, rather than buying new decor or trend chasing consumer items that create environmental waste and stress. We want to decorate with intention.
On Saturday, December 6 starting at 3PM until 6PM, we will gather for a community-wide Ornament Swap. Everyone is welcome to browse the ornaments collected and take home some new-to-you treasures. We'll also have simple and natural craft stations, to remind us that creativity and connection are more important than consumption.
Throughout the drop off time and the actual swap event our Angel Tree will be available. Each tag represents a child in need this Christmas season. Participants are encouraged (if able) to take a tag, purchase a gift from the tag, and return it wrapped by December 14th with the tag. By participating this creates an extension of joy outward into the community.
This event is free, family-friendly, open to all, and rooted in love, hospitality, and sustainability. Spread the word - let's fill our trees and our hearts, not out landfills.
