What to Expect
Sundays at 10:00AM in the Sanctuary and live on YouTube
When you arrive for worship at OHPC, you’ll park in either the front or rear parking lot and make your way into the church via a set of double glass doors. For easier accessibility, you may consider parking in the rear lot (which has 5 ADA compliant parking spots). The glass doors on both sides of the building open into the central hallway space, called the Narthex.
Off the Narthex is another hallway, which has the bathrooms, offices, meeting spaces, and the nursery/family friendly worship space. On the other side of the Narthex is the sanctuary space where the community gathers for worship every Sunday morning.
As you enter the Sanctuary, a greeter will be at the door to give you an order of worship, called a bulletin. This will be your guide to the service. It includes written prayers, the scripture readings, and other important information for that day’s service. For congregational singing, OHPC uses the Glory to God hymnal, which is the red book sitting in under the chairs in front of each row. Some of the chairs also have a blue book, which are copies of the Bible.
Worship at OHPC includes congregational and choral singing, praying, reading Scripture, preaching, offering. The pastor is assisted in leading worship by the week’s liturgist.
As a guest, please don’t feel like you expected to give during the time of offering. This portion of the worship service is to give to the church community for the ministry it provides and is done with joy, excitement, and gratitude for all God has done for us. If you do wish to give, you can give by placing your offering/gift in the offering plate as it’s passed around. There are envelopes at the back of the Sanctuary near the doors to enter, if you’d value placing any offering or gift into a giving envelope.
After worship, everyone is invited to stay and have some coffee, tea, and snacks. This happens in the rear of the sanctuary space.
